Express your love with rustic styling

By Bride and Groom 18 August 2016

The rustic-style wedding allows couples to personalise and create the perfect environment for guests to celebrate their special day. For Alanna Puddicombe and Glenn Burnell the theme also gave their family members an opportunity to contribute to the overall feel of the occasion.

Metres of fabric bunting, sewn by the couple’s mothers, transformed the interior of The Lakeside Centre, Benalla into an intimate reception venue complete with hand-made table numbers, menus, place settings and bonbonniere.

Recycled timber from an old shearing shed was crafted into flower boxes and filled with favourite blooms for the table centrepieces. Chalkboards dotted around the ceremony and reception venue directed guests to take confetti, sign the guestbook and take photos. Alanna said polaroid cameras and photo props were “a real hit” and guests were encouraged to peg their snaps to an old timber door to add to the fun.

The couple was married at the Burnell family farm Wombat Cottage, Upotipotpon on March 21, 2015.
